Midday Pep Talks Series with Carolyn Creswell and Dylan Alcott OAM

As part of our 10 year birthday celebrations Latrobe Women in Business is proud to bring a two part series of Midday Pep Talks to educate, inspire, encourage and motivate.

Event 1 – Carolyn Creswell

Carolyn Creswell22 October 2020

Carman’s founder Carolyn Creswell is an inspirational leader whose success proves that you can run a multinational business, love what you do and have a genuine work-life balance.

As an 18 year old university student, Carolyn Creswell founded Carman’s in 1992. She bought the tiny business for $1,000. In December 2017 Carman’s proudly celebrated its 25th birthday and is Australia’s number one selling muesli brand along with being a leader of deliciously good for you bars and nutritional snacks.

From humble beginnings where Carolyn used to park her tiny Daewoo alongside semi-trailers in supermarket loading docks, Carolyn’s determination and focus on producing quality products using whole foods, has seen Carman’s build a strong following in more than 35 countries around the world.

Carolyn’s passion for healthy food made from real ingredients has cemented Carman’s reputation as a food brand that customers around the world can trust to be natural, healthy and delicious.

As a proud mother of four children aged 15 and under, Carolyn understands the importance of producing nourishing foods for herself and her family and applies this to every Carman’s recipe.

Proudly sponsored by
Latrobe Regional Hospital.

Event 2 – Dylan Alcott OAM

Dylan Alcott OAM12 November 2020

Not many people can lay claim to being a Paralympic gold medallist and world champion whilst still being in their teenage years. Then again, there aren’t many people like Dylan Alcott.

Dylan, a dual sport athlete, has represented Australia on the international stage in both wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis since the age of 13.

Dylan was born with a rare type of tumour wrapped around his spinal cord, which required immediate surgery only weeks after birth. After a three-year battle for his life, Dylan defied the odds and through sheer determination and hard work, he has been able to strive to become one of Australia’s best and widely recognised Paralympians.

Dylan’s achievements are not only restricted to the sporting field. In 2017, Dylan created the Dylan Alcott Foundation, a foundation to help young people who are struggling to come to terms with their disabilities. The foundation aims to improve quality of life through mentoring, scholarships and grants which assists individuals to be involved in education and sport.
Dylan an athlete, charity founder, best selling author, entrepreneur, media personality, advocate and all round game changer and champion Australian is sure to inspire as he shares his story of being the best version of yourself.

Proudly sponsored by ANZ.
